What's a coalition?
Vineyard Cares is volunteer run!
A coalition is a group of people united in working toward a common goal and coalitions are an effective way to mobilize communities. Coalitions assess local needs and create an action plan to address those needs. They work to decrease risk factors and support protective factors relating to substance misuse, suicide, delinquency, crime and other risky behaviors.
Vineyard Cares membership is open to those individuals, agencies, organizations, or government entities that support the mission and goals of the Vineyard Cares Coalition.

Risk & Protective Factors
Risk and Protective factors are present in everyone's life for many different things! Risk factors are the things in a person's life that interrupts positive behavior patterns. Protective factors are things that promote positive behaviors!
Vineyard Cares works to address factors to create safe and healthy individuals and families.

Prevention is a sound investment! Research shows that for every dollar spent on prevention there is $10 saved in treatment and enforcement costs.
