Guiding Good Choices Parenting Workshop

Guiding Good Choices is a five week parenting workshop that aims to teach parents behaviors and skills, to enhance effective child management behaviors and parent-child interactions and bonding, to teach children skills to resist peer influence, and to reduce adolescent problem behaviors. Guiding Good Choices is based on the Social Development Strategy of bonding. Guiding Good Choices research shows that communities that implement the classes see a 41% reduction in alcohol and marijuana use and increases the likelihood that non-users will remain drug free by 26%. Guiding Good Choices will be offered through the city and held at the city office building. Vineyard Cares will provide lunch and childcare, if needed, to reduce barriers for parent partners to attend all five sesions.  At the completion of the course, partners will receive a family focused raffle prize. (Prizes include-Thanksgiving Point family pass, Megaplex gift bundle, Aquarium pass)
